Mission Statement
Our Shepherd Lutheran's Youth Ministry Program will strive to help youth grow in the Spirit of Christian faith and to relate their faith to issues in their lives, the community and the Church through worship, education, service and fellowship. Youth will have the opportunity to be part of a caring. Christian community and to grow in their understanding of the Church's ministry.
Goals
- Worship - To develop understanding of Lutheran worship and encourage participation on a personal level in groups and as part of the larger family of believers
- Education - To explore and apply the Bible as God's Word for everyday life; To reinforce Lutheran tradition in a world context; To teach Christian values and relate them to life style decisions
- Service - To encourage leadership in a Christian response to service needs within our church, community and world at large
- Fellowship - To assemble in a Christian environment in pursuit of worship, study, service and recreation
Team Volunteers
The team Volunteer Approach involves adult volunteers for each age group. The teams are coordinated by the Youth Ministry Committee and resources and training are available. This approach offers youth a variety of caring adults - a community - to build relationships, learn styles of leadership skills, and better understand their connection with God. We need you, adults of all ages, to work in a team and with our youth. Remember you are not alone. Together Everybody Achieves More.
Youth Group Scope & Scoop
Some Junior and Senior Youth meetings and activities are combined together. Friends are always welcome at all meetings and activities of these groups. Meetings, events and activities are fully publicized. Watch for them and Join the FUN.

When Do Youth Programs/Activities Occur?
Each of our three groups normally meet on Sunday evenings, 6:00 - 8:00, Junior and Senior Highs twice a month. However, there are other times occasionally, i.e., a Saturday trip, a weekend event, a mid-week special occasion. Such things are announced in advance and are carefully planned around school schedules, etc.

This project is sponsored by our Youth Ministry Program.
Communication
Youth meetings and activities are listed in the church newsletter and calendar. Announcements are posted on the entry way and youth room bulletin boards and reminder e-mails are sent to youth group members.
