Pastor Morris's Biography
Kathy was born in Baltimore and grew up in San Jose, California where her family moved when she was very young.
She attended college and received her Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Trinity Lutheran College (formerly called
Lutheran Bible Institute of Seattle) in Issaquah, Washington in 1996. Throughout college, Kathy spent much of
her time working with children, both volunteering with the children's ministry programs at church and working
in the child care field, so she always figured she'd have a career in teaching youth or in youth ministry. However,
after graduation, she stumbled into a job working as an activity manager at a retirement home in California. It was
during that year that Kathy realized the next step in her life would be to attend Luther Seminary in St. Paul,
Minnesota. She enrolled there in 1997 and graduated in May 2001 with her Master of Divinity degree, earning
a Certificate of Concentration in Youth and Family Ministry, working as a youth director at St. John's Lutheran in
Minneapolis and completing a year long internship at Central Lutheran Church in Bellingham, Washington along the way.
She was ordained in July 2001 and is excited to be back in Maryland and have the opportunity to explore the East
Coast, and share the good news of Christ's love with the people of Our Shepherd and the community around her.
