Registration
School hours are 9 a.m. until noon. Children should be brought to the north entrance. For the most part, the Nursery School follows the same calendar as Anne Arundel County Public Schools, with a few exceptions. We follow the same snow closings as the public schools. If Public Schools open 1 hour late, so do we. HOWEVER, if public schools open 2 hours late, WE ARE CLOSED. Listen to local radio and TV stations for inclement weather school closing information.
A calendar for Our Shepherd Nursery School will be given to each parent at the Orientation meeting. The Nursery School has two morning sessions. The three-day session (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) is for children who will turn 4 by September 1st of that school year. The two - day session (Tuesday, Thursday) is for children who will turn 3 by September 1st of that school year. Both classes are supervised by two teachers and a teacher’s aide. Each session consists of a maximum of sixteen children. Another session may be added if sufficient enrollment warrants it.
Children must be potty-trained by the first day of School. A list of each child’s name, address, and telephone number will be given to parents at the Orientation meeting. This way, parents may arrange their own car pools. Children’s sweaters, coats, boots, etc., should be marked with his/her name. Please see that your child is dressed for the weather of the day. All children must go outdoors with the group (weather permitting). It is required that a change of clothing for each child with his/ her name be kept at the school for unexpected accidents. Our Shepherd Nursery School does not issue written reports concerning the progress of each child. However, two days are set aside each year as conference days. The teacher will also gladly confer with parents concerning the progress of a child upon request. We are looking forward to meeting each of you and working with you and your child. Please remember, we have an open door policy. Parents may visit the school at any time without an appointment.
